Amy Tan Paragraph

     Amy Tan grew up with her mother who spoke broken English. Amy's first language is English and her second language is Chinese. Amy helped her mom by speaking for her, because her English was not as good as Amy's English. For example when Amy's mom has to talk to the doctor, the doctor didn't take her seriously about what she needed, because of her broken English. Every time she needed to talk to someone on the phone or in person, Amy had to speak for her. The reason for this was because Amy speaks very well English, and people can understand her right away. Amy is a smart girl. She has A's and B's in Math and Science class. Her teachers were motivating her to learn and study Math and Science. Later on, she decided to be a writer. Now she writes a lot of stories. All the stories that she writes, her mom reads them and says, "so easy to read".
